Anyone interested in the general field of historical studies-----history,
geography, and archaeology---is entitled to join the Society of Historical Research
(SHR). All members receive six issues of the Shirin journal a year.
They are also eligible to contribute articles, research notes, and book reviews
to Shirin.
There are two categories of membership in the SHR:
A. Normal member: Annual membership dues are ¥ 6,900.
B. Student member: Annual
membership dues are ¥ 3,900.
Those who fall under either of the following two
categories are eligible for student membership.
1. Graduate and undergraduate
students.
2. College/university students such as interns and auditors who do not
have a full-time or part-time academic position.
A. Application for Normal Members
・Fill in the application form for normal membership, and send the completed
form to the office of the SHR by postal mail, fax, or e-mail. (See below.)
・The
application form can be downloaded in two formats.

・Receipt of payment of the membership
dues is required before new members may enjoy any of the membership benefits
and privileges.
B. Application for Student Members
・Fill in the application form for student
membership. Please note that the signature of the academic supervisor or tutor
of the student is needed to certify that the present status falls under either
of the two categories cited in B-1 and -2 above.
・Send the completed form to
the office of the SHR by postal mail or fax. (See below.) E-mail application
is not acceptable for student membership.
